Authenticity in your approach and interactions helps build your personal brand. The things in the past that you think weren’t relevant…own all of those things, own all things that make you uniquely you. Those things have been what has got me a job. Be proud of who you are. Own your past, own your future and the things you’re interested in. Feel good about who you are, take that into every conversation and interview…that is your personal brand.

Passion is the driving force behind success. Mia highlighted that being genuinely excited about your work and discussing it with enthusiasm can significantly impact your career.

Mia advised getting into the field and gaining experience. She reassured that there are no wrong moves in the early stages of a PR career. Each experience contributes to your growth and understanding of the industry.

PR is very hard work. It’s more than just working on set, being on the red carpet. There aren’t set hours, you have to do the work, things come up and you have to be able to handle them…[and] you have to love the work; this is exciting to me, I love this film, I can’t wait for people to see it.
