Cash Accounting and Expense Analyst

We are now looking for an Expense Administrator - 12 Month FTC, to join our Finance team! In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of staff expenses while maintaining compliance with internal policies and HMRC guidelines.

Guardian News and Media is proud to be a London Living wage employer. The minimum salary for any full-time role within the organisation is £30,000 per annum. Salary ranges are dependent on skills and experience.

About the role

  • Ensure all expense claims strictly adhere to GNM policy and HMRC guidelines.
  • Own the end-to-end expense process for UK and Australia teams.
  • Maintain Oracle Fusion, update policies, and resolve payment issues.
  • Manage foreign currency advances, cash floats, and currency reconciliations.
  • Act as the primary contact for expense queries from staff and managers.
  • Deliver monthly KPI metrics and support carbon audit and PAYE reporting.
  • Oversee office security and cash-holding facilities to meet insurance standards.

About you

  • Expense function experience within a 500+ employee organization.
  • Proficient in Oracle Fusion and competent in MS Excel.
  • Deep knowledge of PAYE Settlement Agreements and HMRC regulations.
  • Strong risk assessment and mitigation capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; comfortable challenging senior management diplomatically.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently.
  • Proven ability to meet strict deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Meticulous approach with strong report-writing skills.

We operate in a hybrid environment working 2 days a week from our offices in Kings Cross and 3 days a week remotely.
