Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 15 years of experience in offensive security for enterprise environments, AI/ML security, or agentic systems security
- Expereince with AI-specific vulnerabilities such as prompt injection and lateral movement
- Experience with nation state threats and threat analysis
- Experience designing and implementing Cloud or enterprise security governance and policy enforcement
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
- Experience with AI-driven defenses and detection engineering, such as developing or deploying investigation agents to automate security response, and establishing comprehensive observability and auditability for agent actions
- Deep technical expertise in agentic identity and access management, including the distinction between autonomous and delegated authority, and experience architecting solutions for secure containment and sandboxing
- Deep technical expertise in relevant technology domains such as access control, network security, endpoint security management, applied cryptography, security monitoring, intrusion, and the application and defense of AI technologies in security operations
About the job
As overall AI Driven Defense Tech Lead, this role will provide critical governance and technical leadership over Alphabet's use of AI/ML systems to proactively defend Google as an enterprise. This includes transforming how Google's detection and prevention systems operate autonomously to defend Google against agentic and nation state threats. This will involve leading change across infrastructure and operations. In this role, you will build strategic influence and coordinate across multiple partner teams to set architecture, build consensus, make risk tradeoffs, and represent risks to leadership, with a strong focus on emerging threats from AI/ML-driven attack vectors. You will indirectly lead a distributed team of engineers across organizations and geographical areas for this endeavor to be successful.

Responsibilities
- Identify problems that span Cloud, AI/ML systems, and enterprise environments including platform, identity, and access security domains and drive tractable solutions.
- Provide subject matter expertise and security leadership in multiple domains including identity, authorization, configuration management, Cloud, AI security, and scalable compute.
- Drive executive and senior technical agreements on security requirements and security vision to secure complex cross-environment controls, especially those leveraging AI-driven defense and detection strategies.
- Architect agentic AI systems deployed across multiple environments driving the transition to AI driven defenses.
- Provide subject matter expertise to drive the adoption of advanced AI/ML solutions for security operations and infrastructure across Alphabet.
