Technical Program Manager, Safety, Alignment and Collaboration, DeepMind
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in program management.
Preferred qualifications:
- 8 years of experience leading large-scale engineering projects, preferably across multiple geographies and time zones.
- Understanding of safety, alignment and other alignment related topics in ML.
- Understanding of ML/AI principles and their distinctions from traditional software development.
- Demonstrated success in fast-paced program execution and deliveries.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.
This role is on the Post-Training & Alignment Technical Program Management (TPgM) team. We drive the technical design and execution for the post-training area in GenAI at DeepMind, enabling teams to make rapid progress on our mission. In this role, you will drive and own operational processes across safety, alignment & collaboration.

Responsibilities
- Scope and manage ambitious, multi-team Gemini post training projects, balancing short-term deliveries with long-term strategic success.
- Adapt plans fluidly in fast-paced, rapidly changing environments to unite teams for quick execution.
- Serve as the trusted owner of project status, clearly identifying risks and dependencies to drive progress.
- Be able to quickly grasp technical concepts, streamline processes for efficiency, and communicate clearly with audiences up to executive leadership.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships to influence outcomes and ensure alignment without direct authority.
