Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in designing for AI-driven or conversational scenarios, as well as utilizing AI tools to streamline your own design workflow (e.g., accelerating prototyping or synthesizing workshops).
  • Ability to manage priorities across multiple engineering teams and time zones, effectively collaborating to align on expectations and project goals.
  • Ability to analyze situations from a broader system level, with the potential and desire to lead complex product redesigns (like a future Onebox overhaul).

As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.

Within the Google Ads Advertising Platform (AP), the Acquisitions UX team empowers small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to find new customers and achieve profitable growth.

As a UX Designer, you will execute on our team's core challenge: making it easy for SMBs to get started with Google Ads, regardless of which Google surface they are using. You will do this by helping customers make their campaigns, developing the insights, tools, and campaign optimization features SMBs need to see early value. You will apply systems thinking and emerging technology to proactively assist advertisers through complex journeys.

Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We help grow businesses of all sizes from small businesses, to large brands, to YouTube creators, with effective advertiser tools that deliver measurable results. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $132000 - $190000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Drive the end-to-end UX execution for features that help SMBs start and survive their first year. Apply design methods and processes to create and improve consistent, user-driven outcomes.
  • Identify and communicate problems within your projects. Don't just execute; dissect problems deeply and bring your own strong, informed opinions on practical or creative ways to fix them.
  • Design delightful, consistent Google Ads experiences that meet customers where they are, navigating cross-functional project constraints so your designs live natively within various platforms.
  • Have periodic support from UX Research. Craft your own content and copy, leveraging internal tools and AI to enhance your productivity and deliverables.
