Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 8 years of experience in compliance, information security, IT audit, or risk management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in project/program management within complex organizations, driving alignment and solving ambiguous problems.
  • Solid understanding of cloud technology and experience with risk assessment methodologies and tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and advise VP/C-level executives.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical and risk management concepts to non-technical partners.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

As the Chief of Staff (CoS) for Global Risk and Compliance (R&C), you will serve as the connective tissue for the Head of R&C and the broader leadership team. In this high-visibility role, you are expected to guide and continually optimize strategic and complex programs that reach beyond your immediate organization to drive consistency, efficiency, and economies of scale. You will support the R&C mission to enable Google Cloud by managing risks, ensuring accountability, and defining compliance standards within a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.

At this level, you will navigate high degrees of ambiguity and act as a proxy for executive leaders to drive decision-making and maintain project momentum.You will bring advanced subject-matter expertise in operational excellence or risk management to transform the R&C office into a strategic business advantage.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $188000 - $275000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Author long-term strategy roadmaps (e.g., R&C 2026) and direct the end-to-end Objectives and Key Results (OKR) process, ensuring alignment with senior Google Cloud leadership and organizational themes.
  • Design agendas for Leadership Forums and act as air traffic control to manage high-priority blockers, focusing leadership attention on critical strategic outcomes.
  • Coordinate cross-organizational resource allocation and priorities to meet program objectives while driving transparency through weekly organization-wide communications and strategy updates.
  • Lead performance and talent calibration cycles, including GRAD and promotion governance, to ensure a high-performing R&C workforce. Oversee engagement surveys and facilitate feedback sessions to implement systemic improvements to team culture, sentiment, and overall organizational wellness.
