Clinical Specialist, Mental Health

Minimum qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in a clinical field (e.g., MD, PsyD, PhD, etc.).
  • 3 years of clinical experience (inclusive of training) after the completion of doctoral degree, nursing degree, or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience with evaluation of AI product or digital health product development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience at a digital health company, payer, in health system, or in a healthcare information technology company.
  • Experience record taking an AI health product from from concept to real-world implementation.
  • Experience working in complex, ambiguous environments with cross-functional product development teams.
  • Demonstrated track record of peer-reviewed publications in clinical AI evaluation.
  • Demonstrated track record evaluating AI in a health/healthcare setting using mixed quantitative and qualitative methods to evaluate safety, quality, and efficacy.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $150000 - $218000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply methodologies for evaluating AI model performance in mental health safety and quality applications, working closely with product management and engineering counterparts.
  • Use clinical and domain expertise to provide clinical leadership, guidance, insights and direction on Google’s mental health-focused AI projects.
  • Identify relevant evidence-based practices, related to the mental health and psychological wellbeing of patients and their families, and use these to influence product development.
  • Respond to the needs of the business and projects prioritizing effort effectively. This may require leading on certain projects and contributing to others.
