Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
  • 3 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
  • 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.
  • Experience developing mobile applications for the Android operating system.

Join the highly successful Firebase App Config team as we redefine how developers build and optimize their app experiences. In this role, you will be part of a strong team that is building a unified, intelligent platform that combines remote config, large-scale A/B testing, personalization, and feature rollouts. These products run at high scale with apps using our solutions on every mobile device in the world.

App Configuration enables developers to seamlessly update app behavior, experiment at scale, and deliver tailored user experiences that enhance key metrics. We have big plans to innovate by making our products agentic, increasing their use while reducing developer toil. This role demands a strong, customer-focused engineer ready for high-impact work in high-availability, low-latency configuration services serving millions of applications.

Responsibilities

  • Write and test product or system development code. Build the next generation of tools as services as well as improve existing ones. Take prioritized features, compliance requirements, and goals and proactively land them with high quality and velocity.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies. 
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
