Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in technical program or project management.
  • 7 years of experience in leadership roles with/without direct reports.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in evaluating or fine-tuning LLMs for specific product use cases.
  • Track record in trust and safety, privacy, data governance, or cybersecurity within a high-scale consumer tech or enterprise SaaS environment.
  • Deep understanding of modern data privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA) and complex data architecture.
  • Understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), Natural Language Processing (NLP), conversational AI principles, and model evaluation techniques.
  • Strong ability to translate complex legal and ethical requirements into clear engineering specifications.

As the Senior Staff Technical Program Manager for Safety and Privacy, you will lead the cross-functional execution, alignment, and approach required for a product that is deeply trustworthy, compliant, and secure. This role requires a unique blend of deep technical understanding, regulatory awareness, and empathetic leadership. You will drive the effort to co-design safety mitigations directly with modeling teams, ensuring all features are responsible-by-design from the base model harness to the final App UI, while synthesizing safety, privacy, and security into a unified, multi-modal monitoring flywheel.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $300000 - $334000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of a high-velocity virtual team to co-design safety mitigations directly with modeling teams, ensuring all features are responsible-by-design from the base model harness to the final App UI.
  • Translate ambiguous, open-ended business priorities into structured and executable programs. Proactively identify and mitigate risks, implementing solutions to keep projects on velocity.
  • Mechanize critical parts of the business to generate predictable outputs. Guide critical programs, driving progress from conception to delivery.
  • Forge close partnerships with Product Manager, Engineering, Legal, Safety, Privacy, and other cross-functional leads on approach. Navigate and resolve complex dependencies across workstreams, functions, and organizations.
  • Deliver clear, consistent updates on progress, risks, and plans to executive leadership. Guide cross-functional teams in identifying, prioritizing, and tracking tasks to meet key deadlines. Excel at managing multiple, time-sensitive projects concurrently.
