Minimum qualifications:

  • JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
  • 7 years of experience with legal, regulatory and litigation matters, including addressing, minimizing, and avoiding regulatory risk.
  • Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience with legal, regulatory or corporate compliance, including strategically addressing, minimizing and avoiding regulatory risk.
  • Experience in engaging with regulators, including State attorneys general, Federal Trade Commission, Department of Justice, and global digital media, content, or consumer protection authorities.
  • Experience advising on laws/regulations governing AI models and systems, like the EU AI Act, US state legislation, executive orders and related global legislation.
  • Experience working with technology companies and ability to understand complex technical issues.
  • Experience with managing projects and partnering with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, analytical, and investigative skills.

In this role, you will be working as part of a cross-functional team to address those issues and providing legal guidance to help Google meet its commitment to bold and responsible AI innovation.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $252000 - $352000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits
US: $275000 - $383000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Lead responses to regulatory inquiries, investigations, and enforcement actions.
  • Oversee the collection and production of accurate information in external submissions and disclosures.
