Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in product design or UX.
  • Experience designing for Developer tools.
  • Experience with Prototyping for experimental UX concepts and interactions with AI.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in product design or UX.
  • 7 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.
  • 6 years of experience leading design projects.
  • 5 years of experience working with executive leaders.
  • Experience with vibe coding and visualize, test and iterate AI interactions.

As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.

This role extends beyond traditional UX design, focusing on leveraging AI to transform the future of Software Development.


In this role you will have significant ownership and embrace ambiguous challenges. This role will help shape the future of how Google operates by establishing innovative AI-first product and UX paradigms. This is a unique opportunity to work across product areas and work with teams across Google who are working on AI and software development.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $236000 - $330000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Influence stakeholders across organizations to gain support for design strategies. 
  • Lead the development of innovative design solutions to user, product, and business problems. 
  • Own a holistic design process, design system, or design language across teams or products. 
  • Lead design solutions based on user insights, business needs, and industry trends that further business outcomes. 
  • Guide and provide direction to UX designers in creating design concepts for user research/testing.
